A phrase of Saint Irenaeus was at the heart of the inspiration for this work.
"The glory of God is the living man. The life of man is to contemplate God."
Saint Irenaeus
Initially composed of two offices facing the street, it was necessary to create a collected atmosphere different from meeting and training spaces.
What man can be more alive than the Risen Christ? He is pictured here, arms wide open in his mantle of light and mercy, the ultimate model of life, transcending death in love. He is THE living one, who attracts us in, leads us in his wake.
Near him lies the dove of the Holy Spirit, pointing to heaven and watching over the tabernacle. The Virgin, as for her, haloed in gold like her son, took place in the assembly and contemplates God, as recommended by Irenaeus. She teaches us to pray to him, especially through the liturgy, on the two tables of the word and of the Eucharist animated by the same breath which makes them wave. This wave is also found in the seat of the celebrant who acts in persona Christi at the heart of the liturgy, as recalled by the golden cross which marks its unique place.
The life of man is to contemplate God. It is to take the path marked by the dusting of the stained-glass windows, and ascend towards the light like no other, that which illuminates the earth and crosses souls like rays of gold.
May this light inspire and vivify the mission of all who will pass here.
